21 year old whisky is often given as a 21st birthday present, a gift for fathers day or a Christmas present.Twenty one year old whiskies have generally taken on a huge amount of complexity and character from the cask they were matured in. Often the colour of a 21 year old whisky will be darker and more intense than younger whiskies.
1990 was a year that many notable occurrences occurred some involved single malt whisky, others bourbon. Notable occurrences in 1990 included:
In 1990, on January the 31st, McDonald’s opened their first store in Moscow. Everyone knows nothing washes down a Big Mac better than a fine glass of sherry cask matured Speyside single malt whisky. Yummers!
In April 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope was launched aboard the Discovery space shuttle. Whisky would probably not have been used as fuel.
Many a whisky glass would have been raised in October the 14th 1990 in memory of Leonard Bernstein, the legendary US composer, who sadly passed away.
